Today
marks four weeks of Desmond, and I must say, he's been a real angel thus
far. Yes, he's been known to squawk, but he's easily consolable; and yes,
he's full of poo, but I understand there's a whole lot more than four weeks
worth of that so I won't complain.
A lot of people ask where
Desmond's name comes from. Well, it's a long story but it starts with soccer
(Des
Walker) and ends with The Beatles...
Desmond has a barrow in
the marketplace / Molly is the singer in a band / Desmond says to Molly
'Girl, I like your face' / and Molly says this as she takes him by the
hand
Ob la di, ob la da, life
goes on...
Interestingly enough, Desmond
would have been called Molly had he been a girl and had Beth gotten her way.
My first choice girl name was Chelsea, again looking for that soccer
connection.
Anyway, I've been having a
lot of fun on my paternity leave. The weather's been mostly great so Beth,
Desmond, Ellie and I go on a lot of nice, long walks. Since I don't have to
go to work, I don't have to be up too early, so I'm reasonably well rested,
although there's been plenty to do during the daytime. Next week we'll start
a little remodel job on our basement, so we've been well-occupied with the
pre-work getting ready for that endeavor.
Lot's of visitors too (and if
you were one of 'em, thanks for stopping by). I think I've finally convinced
Beth that the house doesn't have be constantly tidy... That's probably not
something I should be proud of.
Hope you like the new photos.
As always, click snaps to enlarge...
