He's here! Our bundle of joy arrived on 10 September, 2004 at 5:43pm. His full name is Desmond Matthew Radford Reddaway, but we'll call him Des, Desi, Matt, Muffin, Pickle, Rider, Duckling, and countless other nicknames. He was 7lbs 11oz and 21" long however, knowing what I know, I expect that's all going to change rapidly. All in all, Beth's labor was pretty average. Her water broke around 3 that morning and about 15 hours later, Desi was here. From what I've heard, there have been many faster deliveries, and equally as many that drag on much longer. There's so much more to say about the whole experience, but as you can imagine, I'm completely knackered. Since finishing this is all that stands between me and my bed, I'll leave it at this... ...to all of our friends and family who have shown us such tremendous support during this exciting time; to those who looked after little Ellie while we were at the hospital; to those who prepared meals for us so that we don't have to worry about feeding ourselves over the next few days; to everyone who called, e-mailed, text messaged, or even spent a moment thinking about us... thank you, we love you, we are better people because we know you. Enough of the sappy drivel... I know all you really want right now is some photos... go . |
