Cordoba is known as the home of the most epic of all mosques built in Spain by the Moors, the Mezquita. Double-click some of the snaps below to get a closer look inside. We simply do not make buildings with such beautiful attention to detail today.

Aside from the Mezquita, Cordoba is a sleepy town. Most everywhere else we went in Spain, the streets would fill with people at around 8 or 9 o'clock as the locals go out for a meal. Not so in Cordoba. Despite this, we ended up staying two nights, using Cordoba as our base for a day-trip to Baena.

Much of our drive through Andalusia was through rolling olive groves. In fact, I didn't really even like olives that much until tasting them in Spain. Hmmm. Anyway, Baena is a small town that is known for it's premium olive oil. Of course we brought some home with us and have been splashing it into the food we've cooked since our return to serve as a subtle reminder that work is bad and vacation is good. I guess we'll have to go get some more when our bottle runs dry!
